The RYA Day Skipper Practical course in Italy is ideal for aspiring skippers building on their motor experience and basic navigation and boat handling skills.

Our RYA Day Skipper Practical course will begin by spending the first day making you feel relaxed and ready to learn, your instructor will be able to assess your level of experience and help you improve and develop day by day. Every evening your instructor will spend a few private minutes with you, reviewing the day and agreeing with you areas for development. Each day you will notice personal improvement in both skill and understanding.

Pre-Course Experience Requirements
a minimum of either a RYA Powerboat Level 2 or RYA Motorboat Helmsman qualification and that you have good experience on smaller powerboats and some experience on larger motorboats ideally with twin engines prior to taking this course.
Assumed Knowledge
Basic navigation and helmsmanship. In order to get the most out of this course it is recommended that you attend the Day Skipper Theory shore based course beforehand or alternatively complete this course online.
Course Content
Preparation for sea, deck work, navigation, pilotage, meteorology, rules of the road, maintenance and repair work, engines, victualling, emergency situations, boat handling , passage making, night cruising.
